Senator John Sudarsky spoke to Colombia Politics about democracy, Colombia´s political system, the challenges the country faces, the peace talks with the FARC, and his proposed reform to the electoral process.

This is the third extract from the interview, where Senator Sudarsky explains how his important electoral reform would work, and what it would mean for Colombian politics.

  1. Michael Irvin says:

As an Expert on Colombian Business and International Trade specifically for Latin America, I hope that human rights violations will be addressed and that Colombia will continue to move toward peace. Many times this does not occur with having the trade agreements in place first. Once Colombia has a taste of free trade the US and Europe can use leverage to cause positive action and change to occur.
Espero que Colombia sigue ser un pais que está creciendo económicamente.

    • Kevin Howlett says:

Michael, thanks for your comment. I agree that free trade agreements are an excellent example soft-power to promote liberty and democracy. Colombia Politics is instinctively in favour of free trade agreements. Thanks for getting in touch.
